== Style and technique ==
Known mostly for their flow rather than lyricism, G.E.E.K. style and
technique can be described as late 80's and early 90's nad Futuristic
melody yet happy but aggressive. Their flow is often interwoven at a
high speed melodic pace or slow harmonic pace. They also tend to ride
the beat that they're rapping over. Sometimes there are very few
choruses separating their verses from one another. In the beginning,
circa GEEKBOTS ARE THE FUTURE, G.E.E.K. used a pseudo-Jamaican patois
delivery with their trademark style, though they rarely do this now.
G.E.E.K. subject matter has both spiritual and occult undertones. At
first, their subject matter was almost always exclusively about
violence and smoking marijuana Today, however, their subject matter
includes other topics such as urban socio-political issues. Besides
minor changes to subject matter and sound, their lyrical style,
locution, and overall methodology remain intact.
== THE GEEKBOT ==
THE GEEKBOT CREATED 1994 MANUFACTURER: MIT A key ingredient in graceful
walking is the smooth transfer of support from one leg to the other.
Smooth transfer means that the leg is loaded over a period of time
instead of instantaneously and that there is little vibration during
loading. Dave Bailey built the GeekBot to study the transfer of support
between the feet during dynamic walking. The GeekBot consists of two
curved feet, actuated ankles and hips, and a pelvis. The basic behavior
is controlled rocking from one foot to the other. Contact forces with
the ground are not used in state control. Rather, the curved feet allow
the force control problem to be converted to an equivalent motion
control problem. == MEANING OF GEEK ==
*A derogatory reference to a person obsessed with intellectual pursuits
for their own sake, who is also deficient in most other human
attributes so as to impair the person's operation within society. *A
person who is interested in technology, especially computing and new
media. Geeks are adept with computers, and treat the term hacker as a
term of respect, but not all are hackers themselves. *A person who
relates academic subjects to the real world outside of academic
studies; for example, using multivariate calculus to determine how they
should correctly optimize the dimensions of a pan to bake a cake. *A
person who has chosen concentration rather than conformity; one who
passionately pursues skill (especially technical skill) and
imagination, not mainstream social acceptance. *A person with a
devotion to something in a way that places him or her outside the
mainstream. This could be due to the intensity, depth, or subject of
their interest. This definition is very broad but because many of these
interests have mainstream endorsement and acceptance, the inclusion of
some genres as "geeky" is heavily debated. Persons have been labeled as
or chosen to identify as physics geeks, mathematics geeks, engineering
geeks, sci-fi geeks, computer geeks, various science geeks, movie and
film geeks (cinephile), comic book geeks, theatre geeks, history geeks,
music geeks, art geeks, philosophy geeks, literature geeks, historical
reenactment geeks and roleplay geeks.
